Natural Acne Scar Treatments

Tomatoes, which are rich in vitamin A, help renew scarred and damaged skin. Cucumber is used in acne scar treatments because it cools the skin and reduces inflammation so that acne scars are less visible. Oatmeal is effective in acne scar treatment as it serves as a natural exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. Olive oil has moisturizing properties that soften the skin's texture and thereby reduce the appearance of acne scars. Apply fresh lime or lemon juice using a cotton ball directly on the scar area. Let your skin absorb the juice.

Mix 1 tbsp. sour cream, 1 tbsp. yogurt, 1 tbsp. oatmeal and 1 tsp. lemon juice. Apply the mixture onto the acne scars. Leave on for 10 minutes and then wash off.


Mix 1 tsp. ground nutmeg with 1 tsp. milk. Apply on the scar for 15 to 20 minutes a day. Repeat until the scar disappears.


Apply tomato juice on the acne scar. Also try combining tomato with cucumber. Grate a fresh cucumber and tomato. Apply the pulp and juice on your acne scar. Leave on for 15 minutes or until it dries.


Massage olive oil on the scarred area.



Make a paste using 1 tsp. sandalwood powder with 3 drops rosewater. The paste can be used as a facial mask or as an application for only the scarred area. Keep the paste on for longer than an hour or overnight if possible. Wash off with cool water.
